Academic Activities

  • Resource person for IUCCSM Gandhi University. Presented Paper in conference conducted by Gandhi University Kottayam.
  • Presented Seminars in Youth exchange programs held at Tokyo-Japan, Moscow-Russia and Dubai-UAE representing India on various occasions.
  • Was a member of the Committee for the preparation of Syllabus  for M.Sc Electronics for the University of Calicut when it was first introduced in the University of Calicut under the Colleges of Applied Science at Calicut and Vadakkencherry.
  • Has delivered Lectures as a subject expert at UGC Academic Staff College, University of Kerala Thiruvananthapuram  and other Colleges and educational institutions on several occasions.
  • Was a member of the committee formed by the Govt. of Kerala for Syllabus restructuring and upgrading of facilities for Govt. Music Colleges in Kerala.
  • Was a member of the Board of studies for Electronics under Bharathiyar  University Coimbatore.
  • Is a member of various committees formed by the Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam for academic activities under the “Inter University Centre for Studies in Science of Music” (IUCSSM). 
  • Member Board of Studies for Electronics (U.G & P.G) University of Calicut from 2013 to 2017.
  • Currently member, Faculty of Fine Arts,  University of Calicut.
  • Instrumental in starting a course PGDAE (Post graduate Diploma in Audio Engineering) at College of Applied Science, Vadakkencherry the very such First course in Kerala under the Govt. sector).

Extra-Curricular and Youth exchange activities

  • Renowned Playback Singer in South Indian Films. Sung around 100 film songs and in various Music albums.
  • “A” Graded Singer in Light music of All India Radio (AIR) & Doordarshan.
  • Participated in various International Youth exchange programs. Was selected to be a part of the 19 member Indian contingent, which took part in the 6th “Ship for World Youth (SWY) Program” in 1994, that Visited Japan, Singapore, Srilanka, Kenya, & Greece, on a two-and-a-half months long ship voyage.
  • Also participated in the “Renaissance 2003 World Youth Leaders Meet” which was held in Japan in 2003. Was one of the four Indians selected for representing India in this program.
  • Participated in SWY International Alumni Association Leaders meet at Tokyo in 2019, conferences held in New Delhi, Dubai & Moscow in 2016, 2017 & 2019.

Awards

  • 1991– President’s medal winner in AIR National level Light Music competition.
  • 1996– Lata Mangeshkar Award for best male singer of India in Meri Awaz Suno, the first National Level Televised Music competition in India.
  • 1997– Ten Outstanding Young Indian (TOYI) Award given by Junior Chamber International India in recognition to his excellence in Youth activities.
  • 1997– Dubai Kairali Kala Kendra Award
  • 1998– Best T.V. Playback singer of Kerala award for the Song Ennakkaruppin Ezhazhaku
  • 2005– Kalaratna State Award for overall contributions to the field of music.
  • 2017– Indywood Excellence award in Music by Aries Group.
